5 Things I’m Obsessed with Right Now

It’s always a good time to celebrate the stuff that makes everyday living a bit easier and more enjoyable. If you’ve followed me for awhile, you would know that I adhere to a “less is more” approach to stuff. But just because less is more, doesn’t mean you can’t try something new every once in a while. That’s where the one in, one out rule comes in. All these items are newer, better versions of some old obsessions. They might become yours too!

1. The Foaming Hand Soap. There’s something so satisfying about the silky texture of a foaming hand soap. It makes hand-washing an actual experience and less of a chore. My only gripe with the foamy kind is that it seems to dwindle faster than its liquid counterpart. Enter Blueland’s Foaming Hand Soap, which you can purchase refill tablets for ad infinitum. (If you’re interested in going the DIY route, check out my own foaming hand soap recipe here.)

2. The Sports Bra. Call me lazy or lacking in upper arm strength, but I’ve always found sports bras tedious. The thickness of the lycra coupled with the elastic base makes the try-on process a workout in itself. Until I met the ballet bralette by Year of Ours. It’s made with the roomiest, stretchiest spandex, so taking it on and off is an absolute breeze. Translation: I’m now a touch more motivated to work out.

3. The Sherpa Slippers. As a staunch devotée of the Glerups Wool Slipper, you might be shocked to hear that we’ve since parted ways. Why? I wore them so often that the felt around the ankles completely disintegrated, turning them into one schlubby-looking pair of slippers. I searched far and wide for a slipper with similar sole support and landed on these guys. Don’t be fooled by their lounge-y exterior; these can be worn around the house while engaging in routine house chores.

4. The Eyebrow Gel. When Glossier came out with Boy Brow in 2016, it was a game-changer for brow-endowed gals like me. However, the microscopic tube always left something to be desired, and I routinely round out of product at the end of every month. I recently stumbled upon Kosas’s version at Sephora and haven’t looked back since. I’ve been using this brow gel for a few months and still have oodles more product left. The best part is that it gives me my eyebrows, but better.

5. The New Business Card. A really nice-looking business card can be utterly chic. But in today’s digital world, the paper business card is starting to feel obsolete. Also: in my experience, business cards end up sitting idly in your desk drawer. Defeats the purpose of a business card IMO! Enter Flowtag, which is a cute ‘lil sticker you can add to the back of your phone. When someone scans it, it will immediately share your contact info and payment apps. I’ve used this dozens of times to share my information, and it certainly beats hauling around a box of business cards.
